Take out your mobile and Internet plans with the same provider and you often pay less. With the big providers it is usually CHF 10 a month, with Swisscom up to CHF 20: CHF 120 to 240 a year, with no change in what you get. It sounds simple, but there are catches. The discount does not apply to every plan, sometimes it lasts only for a limited time, and a bundle is not automatically cheaper than two plans from different providers.

That is exactly what this calculator is for. Pick your mobile plan and your Internet plan at the top and see the monthly price with and without the discount straight away. If the combination does not fit, we suggest a better one. Further up you will find the best bundles at a glance, sorted by price after the discount.

How to save with mobile and Internet from the same provider

At its core, a bundle is a loyalty discount. You take out a mobile plan and an Internet plan with the same provider, and in return they give you a fixed amount off every month. Some deduct it straight from the price, others credit it on your bill.

Quick maths: CHF 10 less per month is CHF 120 a year. Over a 24-month minimum term, that is CHF 240 back in your pocket. It is not a fortune, but for one extra click it is a decent sum.

The discount does not come automatically, though. It depends on conditions that differ from provider to provider. We explain them in the section "What to check before you sign up".

When a bundle is worth it

A bundle pays off when the provider is your first choice anyway. That is the case if it offers fibre or a good network where you live and its mobile plan fits your data needs. Then you save without compromising on quality.

It is less clear with the cheap online providers. A CHF 15 mobile plan plus a CHF 30 Internet plan costs CHF 45 together. A bundle that charges CHF 55 for both plans stays more expensive even with the discount. That is why our calculator always shows the cheapest combination without a bundle as well.

If you only need Internet, or deliberately keep your mobile plan with another provider, two separate plans are often the better deal. Either way, the comparison takes seconds.

What to check before you sign up

Six points decide whether the bundle delivers what the brochure promises.

  1. Which plans does the discount apply to? Often not all of them. Some providers only grant it from a certain mobile or Internet plan upwards.
  2. How long does it last? Permanently, or only for the first 6 or 12 months. This is usually in the small print.
  3. How long are you tied in? With a bundle, both plans are linked. Cancel one and the discount often disappears, making the other plan more expensive.
  4. What does getting started cost? Activation fee, router, shipping: these one-off costs come on top of the monthly price. Our calculator includes them.
  5. What is the price after the promotion? An introductory price for the first few months says little. What counts is what you pay afterwards.
  6. Is Internet available at your address? Fibre, cable and 5G are not available everywhere. Check your address with the provider before you order.

Bundle or separate plans?

A bundle saves money and paperwork, separate plans save you from being tied in. What matters to you depends on your situation.

Frequently asked questions about mobile and Internet bundles

What is a mobile and Internet bundle?

A bundle combines a mobile plan and an Internet plan with one provider. In return you usually get a monthly discount. Some packages also include TV.

How much can I save with a bundle?

That depends on the provider. Salt gives around CHF 10 per month, Sunrise CHF 10 on each of the two plans, Swisscom up to CHF 20 on selected mobile plans. The exact amount is in the terms.

Do I have to take both plans from the same provider?

No. Bundles can pay off, but they are not a must. Separate plans are often cheaper, for example a mobile plan for around CHF 20 with everything unlimited from Digital Republic plus a small Internet plan from Yallo, Teleboy or Salt. You lose the bundle discount, but the total can still come out lower. Compare both options in the calculator.

Does the discount last for the whole contract?

Not always. Some providers grant it permanently, others only for the first few months. Before you sign up, check how long it lasts and what the price is afterwards.

Which providers offer bundles?

Combo benefits are offered by Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt, among others. Quickline offers family packages at a fixed price. Our calculator shows which discounts currently apply.

Are there bundles with TV too?

Yes. Some providers package mobile, Internet and TV together. The discount then differs by provider. The calculator shows Internet plans with TV together with the TV price.

How up to date are the prices in the calculator?

We check prices regularly. Even so, a provider can launch a promotion at short notice that we have not recorded yet. The details on the provider's own website always prevail.

Depending on the provider, the discount and price only apply if you take out both plans at the same time. No guarantee on the information: the provider's terms prevail.
